Selecting the best evidence based model from a burgeoning array of models to use in a nurse practice setting is critical in ensuring efficient healthcare service delivery, knowledge management and change in organizational culture. According to Stevens (2013), various nursing models have specific key features and criteria upon which their usefulness are evaluated and applied to guide practice change and facilitate the process of evidence-based practice. Of critical importance in this paper is comparing and contrasting of the aforementioned models with an intention of determining which one will work best in a nursing unit.

Which model best suits nursing practice?
Star model will work effectively in our nursing setting. Estabrooks (2009) points out that clinical decision making requires transformation of knowledge gathered from theoretical principles, trial and error and research evidence. It is worth noting that unlike JHNEBP model whereby an organization can be biased in providing results, the star model will control bias using a systematic process. Strength of evidence will be used to classify knowledge.
